Amid ongoing Saudi struggle to resolve the crisis around a Saudi journalist’s murder in Turkey, an incident that has been “politically exploited” by many parties, including the Qatari media, the Saudi Crown Prince is set to start a tour to brotherly Arab states.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman will begin a tour that is set to include Egypt, UAE, and Bahrain on Friday, Nov. 23 before heading to Argentina to attend the G20 summit, an Arab diplomatic source in Riyadh told German news agency dpa on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
Saudi Arabia and the three Arab countries have agreed to boycott Qatar since June 2017 for several reasons, including interference in other countries’ “domestic affairs.” They are also members of the Saudi-led Arab coalition fighting in Yemen in support of the Yemeni national army against the Houthi rebels.
Bin Salman will discuss the latest developments in Yemen and ways to face terrorism and Iranian threats during his visit to the three brotherly countries, the source said. He will also review the peace process in the region, and discuss ways to enhance bilateral ties with the three countries, the source added.
Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih announced Monday that the Saudi Crown Prince will travel to Argentina as part of a foreign tour he will embark on. Falih, however, did not reveal which countries the crown prince will visit.
