Egypt hosts ‘Coast and Desert’ in Mohamed Naguib military base

A side of the military training at Mohamed Nagiub Military Base - Egypt Today

For the first time, Egypt is hosting the “Coast and Desert” in the presence of different military groups from various countries. The military training will conclude December 14 and is taking place in the Mohamed Naguib military base.

This comes as part of the army’s, as well as the political leadership’s focus, on strengthening ties with neighbouring states and allies.

The training began with the participating forces from different countries lining up in order to integrate forces and coordinate the implementation of planned training programs, as well as understand the different ways in which each group operates. This also included an exhibition of weapons and equipment involved in training.

Among the countries taking part of the military training are Egypt, Sudan, Nigeria and Burkina Faso, all of whom are part of the first division. The training of the first division involves courter terrorism and hostage situation training, with the aim of unifying and solidifying the African armed forces and ensure they are able to work as one and respond quickly to sensitive situations.

A significant number of sub-Saharan and coastal states are taking part in this military training. Although they are all split into different divisions, they are all working towards solidifying the African front and working as one.
