More Russian airlines to open flights to Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada resorts: TASS

More Russian airlines will open regular flights between Russia and Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, Russian news agency TASS reported, citing the Federal Air Transport Agency as saying on Friday.

This comes as Moscow has resumed flights to the Egyptian Red Sea resorts earlier this month after six years of suspension.

According to TASS, Aeroflot and S7 will launch flights from Moscow while Rossiya, which has already launched flights to Egypt will increase the frequency of flights.

Also, Ural Airlines, Azur air, Nordwind, Ikar, Red Wings, S7, and Yamal will open flights to Egypt from the regions.

Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh international airports received on 9 August first flights coming from Moscow after nearly six years of suspension after the plane crash incident that took place in 2015.

Russia resumed flights to Cairo in 2018 but flights to the Egyptian resorts of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada were only resumed earlier this year after a telephone call between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
