Egypt’s Sisi heads for Oman on Monday

CAIRO – 26 June 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will pay a two-day official visit to the Sultanate of Oman on Monday, the Omani news agency reported a statement issued by the Omani Royal Diwan.

The President and Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will discuss a number of issues of mutual concern to serve the interests of the two countries, the statement added.

Both leaders will also discuss the regional and international issues, the statement continued.

On April 2, 2022, President Sisi spoke by phone with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al-Said to greet him on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. On April 22, 2022, President Sisi received a phone call from the Sultan on the occasion of the advent of Eid El Fitr, wishing Egypt and its people all progress and prosperity.

President Sisi paid a three-day official visit to the Sultanate of Oman on February 4, 2018, to be the first visit by an Egyptian President since 2009. During this visit, President Sisi made a bilateral discussion with the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
