Egypt’s cultural week held at King Mohamed V Theater in celebration of the Moroccan city of Oujda, the capital of Arab culture, concluded in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem.
Abdel Dayem participated in a seminar titled “Women and Narratives in Arabic Literature”, during which female attendees spoke about their experiences in journalism, literature and poetry.
The attendees also discussed the challenges they faced during the 1970s and their success in observing the literary writings of Hala al-Badri and Azza Badr.
The changes that have taken place in society have highlighted both women’s great efforts and their role in drawing awareness paths through their narrative and story works, as well as their view/expectations of the future through literary works.
The attendees emphasized the importance of the role of women in the renaissance of Arab societies.
Additionally, Abdel Dayem witnessed a technical ceremony, which included paintings of Egyptian heritage, drawings on drums, flutes, and other music instruments with Egyptian art works. The Luxor Folklore Ensemble also performed in the ceremony.
The minister of culture stated that Egypt and Morocco have a long history on both the cultural and artistic levels because they have a direct impact on the consolidation of the social communication between the two countries, stressing that both countries are linked by deep-rooted relations that are constantly growing.
