Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, revealed his thoughts about the women rights and the importance of gender equality.

“I think we need to change the way we treat women in our culture, it’s not optional. I support the woman more than I did before, because I feel like she deserves more than what they give her now, at the moment.” Salah said during an interview with Times Magazine.

Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, has been named in Times Magazine list for “100 most Influential People’ in the world in 2019.

Salah, who appeared in the list for the first time, is one of the most iconic football stars in the world.

Salah’s comments coincides with the proposed amendments to the constitution have granted women a fixed quota. If the amendments are approved, women will hold 25 percent of the total parliamentary seats by the power of law.

The proposed bill stipulates that the number of total members of the Parliament must not be less than 450.

Since the establishment of the Egyptian House, the number of women parliamentarians has never reached such percentage.
