Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad said the pandemic situation in Egypt has become reassuring to a large extent as new COVID-19 cases have noticeably decreased in the country.

But he warned that this stable situation may not continue, if the citizens do not abide by the precautionary anti-COVID measures.

Speaking to MENA, Saad said the government was on alert to prepare for the coincidence of the peak of the seasonal flu with the existence of the COVID-19 pandemic during the winter season.

“It is a new challenge that we starts preparing now for it” he said, underlining that Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has directed bodies and authorities concerned to strictly enforce the law on anyone who do not abide by these measures.

The government is making plan for the education process in school and universities, which could limit the number of students in schools to avoid crowding along with relying on the available technological means to compensate for the attendance of students in schools.
