Egyptian internet provider and telecommunications company Telecom Egypt (TE) said in a press statement on Tuesday that a underwater internet cable was cut in the Mediterranean Sea, affecting internet speeds in Egypt.
TE has provided alternative high-speed bandwidths to internet users and other internet service providers in Egypt, TE added in the statement.
The company asserted that it owns sufficient number of bandwidths which help the company to provide internet services efficiently, in addition to having contingency plans to provide full security of internet in the country and abroad.
