Egypt’s Sisi in Berlin Monday for G20, Africa conference

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will attend Monday a summit in Berlin that will address cooperation between G20 and African countries, state news agency MENA reported.

The two-day conference, titled “Investing in a common future,” will focus on creating future opportunities for African youth in light of growing populations on the continent.

A number of ministers will be accompanying President El-Sisi, including Minister for International Cooperation and Investment Sahar Nasr.

In statements to the press Friday, Nasr said she expects the signing of a German grant to Egypt to bolster the renewable energy sector.

Nasr also said that a meeting with German investors is being organised and that the transportation minister will focus on investment related to developing Egypt’s railway system.

The African countries’ conference comes ahead of the G20 Summit, scheduled to take place 7 July.
