A residential five-storey building collapsed on Wednesday in Al Zawya El Hamraa neighborhood in Cairo as a natural gas pipe exploded, causing the death of a citizen and several injuries.
Four surrounding buildings have been evacuated and the injured were transferred to Nasser Institute Hospital.
The Public Prosecution issued a burial permit for the deceased, and dispatched a team of engineers to inspect the collapsed building and write a report on the case. The testimony of the injured will be heard as part of the investigations when their condition is suitable enough.
