The Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli approved on Wednesday a request to name the Institute of Statistical Studies and Research as a faculty.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research said in a statement that the Cabinet also approved the establishment of the Afro-Asian Institute for Postgraduate Studies in Ismailia’s Suez Canal University.
Cairo University President Mohamed Othman el-Khosht inaugurated in February the new Faculty of African Graduate Studies after turning it from an institute to a faculty.
Khosht held a meeting with the faculty’s board to discuss ways of developing the college in order to meet the objectives for which it was established and to serve the African continent.
During the meeting, Khosht reviewed the national plans concerning Africa to be able to link the research and studies conducted by the college with the policies of the Egyptian state.
