Government relocation to New Capital, Grand Egyptian Museum opening pushed to 2021

Sisi's speech came during a session on digitization on the second day of the seventh edition of the National Youth Conference, taking place at the New Administrative Capital

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi instructed the postponement of the inauguration of national mega projects that were supposed to take place in 2020 to 2021, including the government’s relocation to the New Administrative Capital and the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

The president met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem al-Gazar to examine the strategy to be adopted soon in construction sites amid COVID-19 spread.
