Egypt has welcomed the understandings between Sudan and the United States of America on plans to remove Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism, announced Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
The ministry said in a press release that “Egypt congratulates the Sudanese people and authorities on taking this step, as it looks forward to ending the prolonged isolation and economic suffering that Khartoum has encountered.”
Furthermore, Egypt voiced confidence that Sudan would restore its “effective role” at the Arab and African levels to achieve progress and prosperity.
