IDSC: Egypt among Most Resilient Countries globally in Facing COVID-19

The Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) published an infographic reviewing Egypt’s ranking with regard to resilience to Coronavirus.

Egypt ranked 1st in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and the 25th worldwide with a score of 63.2, according to IDSC.

The ranking, issued by Bloomberg in November 2020, measures the ability of countries to combat COVID-19 pandemic and determines the best countries to live in during the crisis. The index includes 10 sub-indicators: Month Cases, Month Case Fatality Rate, Total Deaths Per 1M, Positive Test Rates, Access to COVID-19 Vaccines, Lockdown Severity, Community Mobility, 2020 GDP Growth Forecast, Universal Healthcare Coverage, and Human Development Index.

The COVID Resilience Ranking indicated that Egypt recorded an average of 7 cases per 100K citizens, and an average of 64 deaths per 1M citizens. In addition, it forecasted that Egypt would be among the top 5 countries to achieve growth in 2020.
