Egypt, Germany’s Siemens company discuss bolstering health cooperation

Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed has discussed with CEO of Germany’s Siemens Healthcare company Michael Schmermer means of fostering bilateral cooperation to prepare the national center for surveillance and control of infectious diseases, and equip it with state-of-the-art systems in the field of handling and preserving data and information.

The two sides probed joint cooperation as regards providing the Ministry of Health central laboratories and their branches nationwide with the most recent technological devices, Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed said on Friday.

The meeting also touched on transferring modern technology to support the medical sector in the fields of education and training, project management, digital transformation and mechanization, scientific research and publication, as well as in the sector of mobile smart clinics, added the spokesman.

Meanwhile, Schmermer asserted his company’s keenness to support the health sector in Egypt, and provide it with all means of technology and modern medical devices.

He also welcomed cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population especially on presidential initiatives and national projects that contribute to upgrading the health system in Egypt.
