The Coordination’s Committee of Party’s Youth Leaders and Politicians [CPYP] appreciated efforts by Egypt’s political leadership’s in defending the Palestinian cause, and reconstructing the Palestinian state.

“The CPYP has followed up on the diplomatic efforts and moves made by the Egyptian leadership to stand by the Palestinian brothers in their existential cause, and their right and independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” read a Tuesday statement.

The CPYP also thanked President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi after his Tuesday’s announcement that “Egypt is allocating $500 million to the reconstruction of Gaza Strip, and that Egyptian firms will take part in the work.”

Sisi’s announcement was made during his visit to Paris, to participate in a tripartite summit with his French counterpart Emanuel Macron and Kind Abdullah of Jordan.

The Palestinians are observing on Tuesday a nationwide general strike to protest Israel’s relentless bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip.

The strike, which will see the closure of all economic, commercial and educational establishments in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Gaza and the Palestinian villages and towns in Israel, as more than 200 people, including 61 children, were killed and over 1,300 others were wounded in the intense Israeli aerial and artillery attacks on the besieged enclave.
