The Russian and Egyptian committees tasked with investigating with the crash of a Russian passenger plane in Sinai in 2015 met for five hours at Egypt’s Attorney-General office on Tuesday.

After sharing the reports of each team, the investigators agreed to continue judicial cooperation to arrive at the truth of the downing of the craft that claimed the lives of all 224 people inside.

On October 31, 2015, the plane crashed after a bomb detonated on board. The place was on its way from Sharm el-Sehikh resort to St. Petersburg in Russia. Russia banned direct flights to Egypt’s Red Sea resorts for more than six years, only deciding to resume flights in April 2021. Egypt has since overhauled all airports on the Red Sea, making major updates.
