CAIRO – 29 December 2021: The Egyptian Ministry of Transport decided to include international companies in the work of developing the railway systems.
Works include modernizing and renewing the facilities, equipment, in addition to allocating each workshop to a specific type of maintenance work.
Involving international companies aims to raise the production capacity of these workshops and transfer expertise to the Egyptian labor, especially in the field of management and operation.
Sources said that the companies are: Progress Rail Company, General Electric and Transmash Holding.
The sources added that it was also decided to involve the Austrian company Voestalpine.
