English newspapers highlighted Egyptian international and Liverpool striker, Mohamed Salah’s ranking in the competition for UEFA Men’s Player of the Year.
Salah finished third in the European Player of the Year award, after Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, and trophy winner Luka Modric of Croatia.
The Egyptian King scored 134 points in third place, behind Ronaldo, who finished second with 223 points, while Real Madrid midfielder Modric topped the list with 313 points.
The Daily Mail said that Salah may have lost the title of the best but was still popular with fans.
Salah will remain the best, the Sun wrote, suggesting that he will be the best player in the coming years and may eventually win the UEFA prize.
