Egyptian army spokesman, Tamer al-Refaie, called on the owners of textile companies and factories not to import or manufacture fabrics and clothing that look similar to military uniforms.

The army warned against manufacturing or importing such fabrics or clothing so that terrorist elements would not use them to carry out attacks that put security and safety of citizens in danger.

The Armed Forces have announced several times seizing a number of military uniforms during the counter-terrorism operation dubbed “Comprehensive Operation – Sinai 2018,” which has been launched since February to eliminate terrorist elements especially in North and Central Sinai.

An Alexandria security official announced in 2013 seizing a container at Dekheila port containing about 10,000 meters of military fabrics, MENA reported.

The then-military spokesman Ahmed Ali said that the shipment was on its way to Libya, adding that 93 parcels were seized containing uniforms similar to the military uniforms of the Egyptian Armed Forces, the Central Security Forces of the Ministry of Interior, and the military police of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
