Algeria’s Interim President Abdel kader ben Salah arrived in Cairo on July 18 to attend the Africa Cup of Nations final between Algeria and Senegal on July 19.

Ben Salah is set to meet with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and a number of officials.
The final will be hosted by the Cairo International Stadium.

Beating Nigeria 2-1 in the semi-final match on Sunday night, Algeria was qualified for the final for the third time in its history.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that South African referee Victor Gomes will not officiate the 2019 AFCON final, MENA reported.

Instead, Cameroonian referee Alioum Alioum with two of his Cameroonian assistant referees- Evarist Menkouande and Elvis Nguegoue – will handle Africa’s biggest match.
Algeria’s captain, Riad Mehrez, earlier stressed that Egypt’s efforts in hosting the AFCON are very special.

“I thank Egypt for the amazing organization, and the excellent atmosphere. The organization and the stadiums are at the highest level,” Mehrez told the tournament’s organizing committee.
