Cairo univ. president, Japanese amb. discuss boosting joint cooperation

CAIRO – 30 December 2021: Cairo University President Mohamed el-Khosht met Thursday with Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Oka Hiroshi and the head of the embassy’s information and culture department, and discussed means of fostering joint cooperation between Cairo University and the Japanese universities in the research and academic fields.

The meeting tackled different topics, including offering joint educational degrees in the fields of technology and space sciences, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence and robotics among others.

The two sides also discussed measures of implementing such cooperation, as well as means of developing relations between Egypt and Japan at all levels, tackling the ongoing cooperation between Cairo University and Japan, mainly with the Hiroshima University and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

They agreed to hold a Japanese cultural day online and at Cairo University.
