CAIRO – 23 April 2022: The Cairo Metro company announced that it would keep the extension of operating hours for the three lines of the metro during the three-day Eid Al-Fitr celebrations due next week.
The Metro lines would start operating from 5:15 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. instead of 1:00 a.m.
The metro company said that the last train on the third line will meet with the last train on the second line at Ataba station at 12.55 a.m.
Meanwhile, the last train on the first line will meet with the last train on the second line at transitional station of Anwar Sadat station at 1:00 am.
The working hours of the Cairo metro were extended for an extra hour until 2 AM during the holy month of Ramadan.
Over the holy month and during Eid, all shops, malls, restaurants and cafes will be open for public until 2:00 a.m., said the Egyptian Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy in a previous statement.
Meanwhile, the takeaway and home delivery services of restaurants and cafés operate for 24 hours a day, the ministry’s decision said in early April. As for workshops at the residential blocks, they should close at 10:00 p.m.
